I have a week off and Grace and I are wanting to go camping sometime over Halloween weather depending, anyone have any suggestions as to where?
Remember it will probably be somewhere via public transport, and also somewhere not too challenging to get to.
Anyone want to suggest a lcation/oraganise to meet up for a group camp?

Sounds like a grand idea, i'd be up for this as i can't attend the 22nd Oct outing due to work and it's been a while since my last excursion, would be great to get out somewhere over halloween and tell a few spooky stories round the campfire.
How about Donard Wood, Newcastle as it's fairly easy to get there by public transport, which i'll be using as well from Belfast, and it's not too hard on the legs hiking up, or if you know somewhere near Larne i can pop in and visit the folks the day after.

I'm open to either. I like the Donard wood idea, after I might even think about trying Donard (Yes, its still on the list)
What sort of days suit?

If you fancy a camp of more than one night Donard Forest is a great spot to kick off at. You can either use it as a base to explore the Mournes or as a first night before pushing further up to camp somewhere more remote.

Sack Donard Wood, a far better place is marked in red on this map. I stayed there last weekend while taking the kids for a world challenge training weekend.

The main action kicks off at 4.30pm on Saturday 29 October at Central Promenade with animated stilt walkers mesmerising the crowds as they scuttle and slither along the Promenade. Join Connor Phillips from 5.00pm as he enchants the crowd with magic, mystery and mayhem from the Cool FM Road Show on the Festival Stage.
Why not join the throngs of witches, wizards, dragons and goblins taking part in our Bedazzling Float Parade? Or simply line Main Street and just enjoy the magnificently colourful and creepy cavalcade of ‘Potty’ inspired floats as they snake their way from Railway Street to the Festival Stage from 5.30pm.
Be prepared to watch in awe as Down’s Dazzling Fireworks Display illuminates the sky above the Promenade from 7.30pm sharp with a 15-20 minute spectacular display with a stunning sound track to add to the magical evening atmosphere. Get there early to make sure you have the best view.

Greenhill YMCA are having have a camp during the Halloween holidays.. for anyone with children, this is a fantastic experience for them. Unfortunately the numbers are so low they may have to cancel. They had originally planned for 3 days, but with some of the schools due back on the Wednesday they will also do a 2 day'er at a reduced priced, £35. (If they get the numbers) Its well worth the money. If anyone is interested please see the link below. :D

i'll be at newcastle fireworks too, if there was a camp on i might be able to sneak up to a campsite for a swift half, last time that happened i did manage to stay all night ;D

I am having car issues so don't think I will be making it this weekend.

I've been asked to work this weekend but was putting it off but as there seems to be little happening with the halloween camp i may go and earn some overtime instead, this has nothing, i repeat nothing to do with me being unwilling to spend a night alone in a spooky forest near the witching season on my own, ahem.

Sorry me or Oisin haven't posted back in awhile about this. Sadly Oisin has to work on Saturday so it has been put off to hopefully sometime during the week or next weekend maybe if the weather is okay.
Will let you know if anything will be taking place.
