I bought a Source Widepak from Cotswold Outdoor (£17 less 15% for CANI members)

A wide opening makes this 1.5 litre water carrier easy to fill and drain, and easy to clean. Long distance runners will appreciate the dirt shield cap that protects the valve from mud splashes.

When you have a water bottle you either have to keep taking your bag off to drink from it or carry it which is a pain in the ass. Tends to mean that you don't drink enough which isn't good when you're exercising. With a drinking bladder you can drink continouosly while you're on the move.

The Source Widepac is reasonably priced and works well. Only issue I had was I rinsed it a few times before first use but the water still tasted a bit funky so either I need to sterilise it or put some juice in to flavour. That aside, I was impressed and it will be a full time replacement for my water bottle when canoeing or walking. Now I need 2 of them - one for water while exercising and one for red wine at the camp fire ;)

Nice reveiw mate.
I found that if you put a couple of teaspoon's of baking powder in the bladder and leave it overnight it take's that plastic taste out of it, you only need to do this once or everytime you are getting a bad taste in the water.
It work's out at one teaspoon for every litre of water.
Hope this help's
Davy.
