Title: A Winter Weather Warning
Post by: RedLeader on February 21, 2018
I spotted this thread on Reddit and felt it served as a bit of a warning. It happened in Wisconsin where in winter it's obviously much colder than here, but it goes to show how people can get seriously caught out in a short amount of time. The skinny is, a guy thought he'd save the cost of a hotel by sleeping in his car but after trudging around in the snow he had wet shoes and socks. He pulled off the shoes, switched the heater on in the car and went to sleep assuming the socks would dry. While he was asleep the car ran out of petrol and he woke up with exceptionally sore feet, but being the middle of the night he ignored the pain thinking he would deal with it in the morning. Long story short, his feet froze and how he doesn't have them any more.

Full story here with some graphic pictures (don't say I didn't warn you) and lots of people rather pointlessly telling him he was an idiot:

As mentioned, this isn't Wisconsin and we don't see the low temps here that they would have but it's something to think about before you tackle your next snow camp!
