Nah, they changed them becase the troops were getting ration fatige de to the fact that we've been at war for like 10years. The old ration packs used to have the best chocolate ever! It was some scottish name "duncans" perhaps. and the biscuits brown and fruit were amazing too!

Why not make up your own, Asda, Sansibury, Tesco's all do their own boil in the bag meal's from a quid to two or three quid. The Uncles ben's microwave rice work's just as well boiled in a trangia also super noodles are great and light to carry plus you can add what ever you want to them, if you are getting the rat packs carry a bottle of tobasco with you it will spice things up for you.
You will have to ask your-self the question, Do you really need that much food for a day in the hills? there is a lot of food in one pack, it is also a good idea to pack some tea bags as the tea that comes with these pack's does not taste very nice and I would only use it in a real emergencies when you need to get some hot fluids in you quickly, I do enjoy the orange and lemon drink powder that comes with the pack's plus the sweets are a nice little addition as well but like I said it's all things that you can pick up yourself if you shop about a bit.
Davy.

Okay, I have sorted these packs out. I have arranged 20 of them. I am going to take 5 for myself which leaves the rest up fir grabs. These are being posted from Reading and they are dam heavy so Inc p&p they work out at £11.35.

Which is still good and cheaper than eBay

I reckon they will be here by the weekend so let me know if ya want so and I will meet up. First come first served and all that

Guys the first box of ten packs have arrived. Ideal timing for your mourne wall trip. There is one of each menu from the original list. If you let me know what you need I will arrange to meet you. I live in Greenisland or can meet you in Belfast

I'd take a handful that aren't chilli or curry.

If poss:
Menu 3 - Chicken Sausage and beans, Steak and vegetables, Chunky Lentil & Veg soup, Custard Sponge.  Herb pate
or
Menu 4 - Chicken Sausage and beans, Meatballs and pasta in Tomato sauce, Chunky Lentil & Veg soup, Custard Sponge. Herb Pate
or
Menu 5 - Pork Sausage omelette and beans, Chicken and herb dumplings, Cream of Vegetable soup, Toffee pudding in toffee sauce.  Mushroom Pate.
or
Menu 9 - All Day Breakfast, Lamb Naverin, Cream of Chicken soup, Lemon sponge.   Tuna In Light Mayo

Cheers

I'd like:

Menu 2 - Bacon omelette and beans, Chicken Tikka Massala Rice, Cream of Tomato soup, Chocolate Pudding in chocolate sauce. Tuna in Light Mayo

And

Menu 10 - All Day breakfast, Beef Ravioli in Mushroom Sauce, Cream of chicken soup, Lemon sponge.   Tuna In Light Mayo.

If possible plz, I could call up tonight after work if that suits, I live at Fortwilliam, so fairly close.
