Title: MONTHLY PHOTO COMPETITION GALLERY - SEPTEMBER 2012

THIS MONTHS THEME IS "Movement"

Last months Winner Mregan has selected this months Theme "Movement".  No excuses this month for not submitting and entry.  Movement is a very broad theme and will give should offer plenty of great photo opportunities.  Time to start playing with your slow shutter speed setting!!!

Please do not post in this thread until the photographs have been displayed, then the chat can begin.

For fairness, submitted entries will not be displayed until after the closing date.

All entries need to be submitted by Midnight on Friday 30th September and will be displayed here shortly after.

The Monthly Photo Competition is open to NI-Wild Members only.  Please remember to include your NI Wild Username when submitting your entry.

P.S.  Your entries do not have to be taken in the current month of the competition.  If you have an awesome shot lurking in your back catalogued on a long forgotten hard drive then email it in and try and grab some votes ;)

No specialist equipment is required to enter this Photo comp and remember you're the photographer, so your interpretation will be respected.

When do they go up? I'm always interested in seeing peoples interpretation of the topic. I had an idea for this months but hadn't the time to get it done. I had to use an old one that I had.

Sorry Everybody... There's going to be a slight delay in posting the gallery.  One of the photo files I have received is corrupt and I want to give the sender a chance to resend it.

If anybody has a pic they want to send in while we are waiting then please feel free as I will extend the deadline until the gallery is actually posted this afternoon.

Oh boy... yet another great set of entries! Lots of variety and technical skills all around for this theme. Motorbikes, wind turbines, headtorches, and dark shadowy photos...all things I love, but there can only be one vote.

This months clear winner of the NI-Wild Monthly Photo Competition

Nice One Oisin... It got my vote! I'm dying to ask how it was done.  I'm hoping there isn't some sort of secret circle like there is in magic that forbids you sharing your technique  ::)

If it was slow shutter I'm guessing it would have been badly over or under exposed.  Or maybe it's a number of shots super-glued together.  Either way, it's a crackin' photo and a well deserved winner.

To everybody else that entered all I can say is, Top Stuff... Competition was tight this month, even with a limited number of entries, with every entry demonstrating a special technique in itself.  I think this has been my favourite month since the competitions began.

What act of thaumaturgy created this winning masterpiece?  These arts are unbeknown to me.

I see Wrh51 has been up my local hill, a nice spot to sit at and watch the sun go down.  I was up there a couple of weeks ago.  Nice background with Slemish there.

Yayy, persistence pays off, I won :) My theory that Liam pays people to vote for him has now been confirmed as false, I'll have to keep thinking of how he wins so often.

My vote went for No. 5, the elephant, I didn't think I would get more votes than that would to be honest.

Thanks for your compliments on the photograph. I'll explain how I took the photograph, its super easy, you could all do it.

All I did was set up a camera, any camera, I used a tripod but you dont have to. Took 5 photographs one after another (but quickly, i.e hold down the button). Then I just opened it up on the computer, cut myself out of the pictures 2,3&4 and pasted them into place on picture number 1.

Dowsers got it bang on by saying its just lots of shots glued together, only because the camera didnt move at all, the background stays the same, and thats the key to it really.

I would have loved to have taken the photo earlier during the day as there would have been more light about and then I could have used a higher shutter speed giving less blur on the runner in the picture, but oh well.


Next months theme? I'll keep it simple - Lights

Congratualtions on winning Oisin, you got my vote too, and all the better you've given me some new ideas for pictures  :)  i like your topic for next months, plenty of headtorch photos in my back cataogue, although i'm going to try something new hopefully
