Title: Winter Camping Advice
Post by: RedLeader on November 30, 2009
December is almost here but cold and wet isn't a good enough reason to abandon outdoors fun so what advice does anyone have for winter camping and walking?

My only thought is to always have some way to make yourself a hot drink in a hurry. I always take a the burner from a Trangia and a drop of meths. There's nothing better when things go a bit south than being able to get a hot drink. It lifts the spirits immediately and can be a life saver.

A wide mouth nagaline type bottle comes in handy if you get caught short in the night  :o
nakes a good hot water bottle afterwards as well.  ;)

Last time I was bivvying it was lashing down and I was dying for the toilet. My mate had stored his ruck under my tarp with his water bottle hanging on the outside - boy was I tempted :)
