Quick Overnighter - Cascade River, 23rd Sep 11
« on: September 19, 2011 »

We're going to have Friday night quickie at the Cascade / Spinkwee River out the back of Tollymore. Plan is to shoot down after work, park at Meelmore and wander over. Then up Saturday morning and back home for lunch.

This is a great camping spot.  I found this little gem many years ago.  Always meant to get myself back there but alas... the 23rd is my weekend to have the little darlings over to stay so I'll just have to look forward to the photos.

Have a good one guys.  This really is a cracking spot!!!

This camp site sounds interesting. Have you got a grid reference or approximate location?

It really does look like a brilliant spot, I've not been there either. How come the route doesn't just follow the wall rather than dipping into Tollymore?

You can just follow the wall but as far as I am aware some of the land is private farm land. I always felt it safer to cut through the forest but that's just me.

Ahh, that explains it. I'm good either way.

We could try the route in red if you want. It would be interesting to find a new route in.

I'd be game to just follow the wall and see where it takes us.

Hi folks
I will hopefully attend this trip. I dont have a car so I will probably walk in from the newcastle side and meet you at the campsite.
Pray for better weather than last weekend!
