Carnfunnock - 01/May/10 - Review
« on: May 04, 2010 »

Kirth wanted to give his bivying gear a spin so him, me, BillyBackpack and Paul had a quick impromptu overnighter on Saturday. We intended to make ourselves at home in one of the forests in Larne but as Paul had access to Carnfunnock with the NIBA we went there for ease. Had a top night with Trangia cooked kebabs round the fire.

Look's like a brill trip, can anyone go there for wild-camping like this are do you need special permission, I get out to a few forest's but at the minute I am sneaking about as I dont know who to approach for permission any advice on this would be very welcome.

You need to be with someone from the NIBA. We have special permission to wild camp and bushcraft.
The park is open to everyone though and camping is permitted in the camping/caravaning area.
Perhaps we could arrange to meet up sometime for a day out.
