What to do with our shiny new flyers
« on: September 07, 2012 »

We finally got around to finishing the flyer and the tiny elves at Minprint are beavering away to get 1,000 of them painted onto DL sized paper.

Now the question is what do we do with them for maximum exposure? Suggestions below please.

Also, please share as much as possible on Facebook and Twitter. The URL is below

For those of you wondering, the compo for the head torch will start once the first flyers are set free and it will be open to everyone.

Both Cotswold definitely have a board you can have things pinned on.
Tiso probably have something or worth asking.

There's also a bit in our Chain Reaction store where leaflets can be left. Plenty of mountain bikers, families etc passing through.

We will have our usual stall at the Carnfunnock Autumfest on Sept 30th. You can get me some fliers I will put them up and get them handed out, or you can come along and join us at the stall and hand them out and explain what it's all about.

Maybe a few local camping shops aswell. I'm sure one of them would like a advertising spot on the forum.

On another note about getting more members, could you possibly send an email to everyone with an account reminding them that we're still about/encouraging them to contribute etc.

I'm sure I could throw some flyers up during freshers week at uni, there's bound to be some people with outdoors interest there.

Places like cotswolds, tiso, jackson sports would reach our target audience & also outdoor pursuit centre's,scout hall & D.O.E groups, what about a pushing the Facebook & twitter pages a bit more as well,we're not using this enough, even a youtube video promoting what we're about, then we could promote ourselves & reach a wider audience, something to think about  ???

Agree with the Social media groups.

Have we ever tried getting some advertising spots in the WalkNI or OutdoorNI newsletters or anything like that?

The best first step seems to be if anyone has anywhere suitable that they could put one of the flyers on a noticeboard please PM (or email) your address and how many you want and we'll post you leaflets. This way we'll get them in places that people can see them but without using too many.

Anywhere outdoorsy that has a noticeboard would be great - outdoor centres, tourist information offices, leisure centres, outdoor shops etc, etc. Please post in this thread where you're putting them so other people wont waste time at the same places.

Thanks all.
