i can usually cope ok with a midge net over my head and gloves on, have had to retire to the tent for a couple of hours when they are at their peak though, bring a good book  ;)

Bloody Bridge! (Anyone got pics?)

I was considering going up to the bloody bridge campsite this or next weekend..
Would love to this weekend with the weather!
But I'm not one to usually stay in a campsite, and was wondering does anyone have any pictures of the campsite?
I was on their website and they had no decent pictures of it..
Was planning to head up with a few friends, wondering if its worth the travel from Newry
Was going to stay for maybe 2 nights..

If you use the search option you will come across some pics taken during NI-Wild camps.  They will probably give you a better idea of what it's like.

There are a couple of fields that are reasonably level, they're just as you enter the site.  The road goes up a bit of a slope where there are other camping areas.

Overall it's basic but does the job.

Unless you are walking it is hardly a big travel from Newry :D  The only downside of the campsite is that being in the shadow of Donard you'll not be seeing much of a sunset.

I know of a couple of spots that way. Along the normal path off to the right. Beside a river though!!! Where the midges live and eat you  >:(
