A nice gift for christmas
« on: November 10, 2011 »

I've been collecting walking stick's and staff's for a few and thought some of you guys would like to see one or two of them.I lost a very beloved dog to cancer a couple of years ago and thought it would be nice to get her picture carved into red deer antler, anyway here are some of my stick collection.

Most of them are carved out of red deer antler which is cast every year by the deer, some are carved from goat's horn and some for water buffalo, all horn ,antlers are cast by the animal each year, anyway i e-mail my friend a photo or a drawing ,then he carved it from the antler handle, then fit it to a shank of my choice ,i always pick hazel, last think he fits it with a brass ferrel, think the most i payed fro one was 80 pound ,that was fro the two fox cub and the fox head one aove,a nice thing to collect or as a special gift
