Hi folks,

So my alpkit filo, which I bought yesterday, arrived today in record time. When the mail person handed it to me she asked if I had "bought a new pillow" - I laughed, it is rather pillowlike when packed up.

So, some minor issues apparent from the getgo and I wanted to see if any other Alpkit customers could comment.

It seems that in quite a few places around the jacket, some down-like white "fluff" appears to be protruding from the seams:

Is this normal for alpkit stuff or is it likely to be a faulty batch?

Should I just snip off the protrusions and hope for the best, or speak to them about a replacement?

If you picked that off a rail, would you buy it or put it back?.

If it's starting off with flaws, it's only going to get worse $:-\$

Just heard back from Alpkit:

Sorry you received the jacket like that! They should have been snipped off here, just use a pair of scissors and cut it off - be careful not to catch the fabric with the scissors. Any loose thread or the odd feather is normal but we should have checked it over before sending it out, so apologies once again.

I took the jacket into the conference room and spread it out on the table, gave it a good look over under a spotlight.

Trimmed any protrusions gently and examined the seams in the areas where they were found.

It seems there are no breakages in the seams or anything like that, just bits where the feathers stuck out. So I might be ok here.

On the plus side it is toasty as hell. Itll need to be absolutely baltic for me to use it lol
