Title: Cave Hill fall teenager critical
Post by: admin on August 30, 2009
A 16-year-old girl is critically ill with severe head injuries after falling from Belfast's Cave Hill.

The girl, who was camping with friends, fell about 20 metres from Napoleon's Nose down a cliff into deep undergrowth.

The incident was reported shortly after 0130 BST on Sunday and about 25 firefighters were involved in a rescue operation.

Ambulance, Coastguard and PSNI personnel also took part.

A fire service spokesperson said the operation "was very complex in difficult conditions and lasted approximately three hours."

They added: "The rescue involved line and steep angle rescue equipment."

Last Monday, a nine-year-old boy was injured after falling from Cave Hill while out walking with his father.

Not good.......... 2 within a week ............I wonder if it will prompt the fitting some sort of safety system or guard rail ?

I really hope the young girl will pull through.
