Title: Titanic Run for the Hospice (31 May 09)
Post by: eventadmin on April 23, 2009
The Northern Ireland Hospice would like to invite you and your friends, family and colleagues to run, jog or walk our inaugural 5k - Titanic Run for the Hospice - on Sunday 31st May, 2009.

By taking part you will be involved in a memorable and enjoyable event. You will also be making a real difference by helping to raise much-needed funds for Hospice care in Northern Ireland.

The 5k route takes in Belfast’s historic sites. It starts and finishes in the Northern Ireland Science Park and you will pass a number of Belfast landmarks including the Thompson Dry Dock where the Titanic was stationed, the Pump-House and the Alexandra Dock, which berths the HMS Caroline, the last British World War 1 Cruiser.

The route also takes in the Harland and Wolff drawing rooms, where the Titanic was designed and will run under the skyline of the famous Harland and Wolff cranes, “Samson” and “Goliath”.

Titanic Run for the Hospice begins at 2pm, starting and finishing at White Star House in Northern Ireland Science Park. There will be a range of entertainment and family activities on offer for supporters and participants. The Pump-House visitor’s centre and café will also be open.

Entry fee costs £10 per person with each entrant receiving a special Titanic Run for the Hospice T-shirt. The entry fee covers the cost of organising and running the event which means the sponsorship money you raise will go directly towards our work caring for adults, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses in Northern Ireland. (Unfortunately this fee is non-refundable.) We would ask that participants try to raise as much money as possible to help us.
