Wet & Wild in the Western's
« on: June 22, 2012 »

Well we're going ahead with our camp tonight in the Western Mourne's,Ed,BigE,& myself, just off to phone to Ed to discuss the latest forecast of heavy rains & gale force winds'-Ed's reply, " Sure, in a sick sort of way it will add to the enjoyment " anyway we're called " NI-WILD " not " NI-it's raining outside ",so as best we can we'll put some sort of tarp up  ;D to cook under & armed with a nice bottle of yellow-tail red & the godfather on the IPad we'll try to put the night in,ps keep your mobile handy liam  :o

Wrap up warm lads, it's chilly and a shade damp out there  ;D Hope you all have decent tents although I always think bivvying is a bit easier when it's windy but messy when it's wet!

We've done a few nasty ones in our time, you should be fine as long as you're all geared up. Good luck, stay in touch!

Love it guys.  I love it when it all works out, especially after the weather being rubbish coming up to the night of the camp.  By the look of the pitch I'd say there was a bit of sliding around the tent floor during the night!

So did Oisin bivvy or were you all in tents?  What were the tents used?  Zephros 2?  Sorry for being a bit of a gear geek ;D

Yes as T18con said it was 5 of the 700+ mountains*  It was a fantastic day with only a couple of light rain showers.  Really quiet on the hills, very few walkers, I think the weather leading up to it had turned them off.  My body feels it now though!
