Anybody been walking around Buncrana area?
« on: November 27, 2012 »

Hi - Heading to the Buncrana area of Donegal in a few weeks and fancy taking in a little walking.

I know there is the Shore Path walk but wondering if anyone has done any more interesting walks in the area?

Don't mind travelling a little to get a better spot of required.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

There is a cracking-looking ridge walk that is only 14km from Buncrana.

Raghtin-Mamore-Urris ridge walk

Do that one and I'll be very jealous  ;)

there is some nice walks up round Dunree and mamore gap been there a few times myself since i only live up the road in Derry .

And theres a walk up to a waterfall on the road between Dunaff and Clonmany and another costal walk brtween Leenan Bay at the bottom of Mamore gap and Dunaff hope this helps.

Thanks Hunter -we are staying about 1/4 mile down from the Fort of Dunree - would that be close to a decent starting point?

Cheers
