Post by: MG1 on April 13, 2010
Guys since Oxfam stole my idea do you think we could get a few teams together to do this?

You just gonna walk it off your own bat or are you looking to put a team together?

I'm easy, could we get people to raise the needed sponsorship?

Teams of 4 to raise £2000 between them, sounds difficult enough to raise.  Would need to run a few events to generate this amount.....

I think thats putting people off it s alot of money.
We could just do the route ourselves.

I'd be game for using the route for our own trip, it looks class!

To be honest, and I don't mean to sound like Scrouge here, but I'm always skeptical of these charity fund raisers.  Always have the feeling that all the thousands of pounds raised ends up being spent on board members and expenses and very little ever gets to the people that need it.  Thats just my own personal view though, and I know not all charities are the same.

The Air Ambulance thing was like that. They raised over £100k and apparently most of it went on "administration". I don't mind getting sponsorship but having to fork out a huge sum to take part in something that you're doing for charity doesn't seem right.
