Title: Best tent for taking on motorbike trips
Post by: SpartanBaz on April 18, 2014
So my mate is looking for a new tent to take on our euro bike trip this year.  Last time I packed all but the poles in the topbox and then just bungeed the poles on outside but surely there are tents out there with shorter poles that can be packed away - does anyone know of any such tents with 'wee' poles?

Cheers!  8)

A tent for just your mate or for others too? Also I guess depends on how much other gear you may want to put inside it and your budget?

Though I do love my gelert solo tent, thig is so well packed and light you could if desired chuck it in a panier for a bicycle and sets up very quick too.

He'd be after a 2 man - just needs enough space for him and jacket/helmet/etc.
I'll tell him to check out that gelert solo tent but it would probably be a little small I'm guessing (even though he's pretty small himself ;)

My vaude taurus tent II has shorter than normal poles, do you have a max length?

Sorry I don't have any specific length to go by, but any shorter than normal size'd poles should be close enough to fitting inside the luggage.  I'll add the Taurus to the list then, thanks for that!
