Winter Causeway Coast Dander Invite
« on: September 04, 2011 »

The NABF (North Antrim Bog Faeries) cordially invite anyone that fancies a bit of a long walk along the north coast to join Andy and myself walking from Balintoy to the Harbour Bar (best guinness on the north coast and purveyors of the king of desserts called Strawboffee). The route is a little under 17 miles and can be found here.. http://www.walkjogrun.net/routes/current_route.cfm?rid=B4CA9EB1-0467-4ABC-5C9290EC274A0815. This is a coastal linear walk with no nasty climbs and is mostly off road but if you can manage a 10+ mile walk you will be able to manage this wander no problem. I find the coast is sometimes best seen in the late autumn and early winter when the weather makes you sit up and take notice.. I haven't got the logistics sorted yet but if you are interested leave me a note here or drop me a line on emailto:mcdonaghs@utvinternet.com everyone welcome :-)

Alrite steve, keep me posted as to when you are doing this and i may join you.

Myself, Whorya and some friends walked from portbalintrea round to carrickareed, ive driven along those roads plenty of times but it wasnt untill we walked that coastal path that i was able to take in some of the views, you just dont get to see all the inlets and coves from a car, simply stunning what our wee island has to offer at times.
