I'm glad the NT don't own Donard, for it'd be a commercial cluster*&^
They ruin everything they touch with overcommercialised crap.

I say this two days after being rushed over carrick a rede rope bridge, hassled for spending 5 seconds taking a photo.

Spoke with Mourne Heritage trust about the rubbish and the Keg and they are contacting National trust as they own part of Donard along the wall. They are emailing me about organising a litter pick.

I was lead to believe that all beer kegs are the property of Bass Charrington, the brewers (or similar) and that possession was only legal amongst the licensed trade.  Therefore anyone outside of that trade could not legally have a beer keg eg within the building trades.

Irrespective of who left the thing up there might it not be reasonable to expect that Bass Charrington on being informed of the keg at Donard that they should be responsible for its recovery or at least show some interest in it?  I'm thinking of some form of reward?

For your views.

I was hoping to be able to say to some walkers;"Have a beer on me when you get to the top!" ;D

Glad it has been removed and no one apparently injured in doing so.  Would still be interested to know who left it there, and why?

That would have been me when I called about the litter pick. Glad it's been removed.
