I have The Book of the Bivvy by Ronald Turnbull if thats the one you mean.

I'm actually reading it at the mo. Its not bad but a bit confusing - part recounting of a story, part instructional. It is quite motivational though.

Funny, I just spotted that this afternoon whilst I was ordering a different book from Amazon.  Think with the discount code from Cicerone it works out at £7.50 so Amazon is the cheaper option.  Keep meaning to check in my local library as well, as I've got a few Cicerone guides from there in the past!

Got my copy today and after reading a couple of chapters i'm itching to have a go at bivvying and tonight would be perfect calm one with almost cloudless skies, except its below zero on the hills and i haven't got a bag yet  :'( good read though, first page i opened was about a wet night bivvying in Belfast with scramblers driving past and someone getting murdered in a tent
