Hey thanks for the heads up about this event, should be gud craic.think i,ll enter the sport race. the elite reads a bit mental really :o. I run or bike in tollymore most days, so would love to have a crack at this.As you say lots of time to get ready for it. ;D
-
Good stuff. It should be deadly Rowan and Ian know how to put on a great race.
-
I was well up for this till i read the date. Its my wee boys birthday. No chance i could miss that. :(
-
Anyone else entering this one. I know a lot of you are into running and biking.
-
No, I'm booked off work to run the Causeway Ultra the week before, and hopefully the MMM 2 weeks before that. October is recovery month before the long winter training starts in.
-
Good luck in the causeway ultra. I have done the causeway marathon and it's one of the best locations I have ran. Tough enough course and more elevation than you'd think. White rocks is a long Aul slog on the ultra I am told.
-
Cheers. I have no idea about the terrain at all. Need to do a bit of research to get my head around how to manage it. Otherwise, I'll just turn up and run it based on heart-rate see what's around each corner!
-
You will have 4 beach crossings - portstewart, whiterocks then Whitepark bay twice. Some road sections then a lot of gravel trails and grassy trails. A few rocky sections to cross as well. On the causeway cliff path there is a lot of steps the main set from the causeway then I think 3 or 4 other sets. It is a very good route though you will love it.
-
Thank you. Sounds good and varied anyway, which the legs always appreciate - a change often is as good as a rest in ultra-running :)

This is on this weekend. Did anyone else enter?
Really looking forward to this.
-
Not I.
Best of luck though, sounds great. 8)
The legs all good again after the Causeway?
-
Grand after a couple of days just. Think its the running and biking to work every day has helped keep them right. When I was younger took me weeks to recover from a marathon.
