Thinking of taking the family camping but my problem is I don't have a decent family sized tent and can't afford to buy one at the minute. Does anyone know if these can be hired from anywhere at a reasonable price and in good condition?

Gumtree always has loads of cheap family sized tents....

I sold 5 man Lichfield on Ebay last year for £31, so it's probably as cheap to buy second hand than hire one. I don't think there's anyone doing a hire service in N. Ireland anyway

So if you're looking for a cheap second hand tent just make sure you avoid the usual rubbish you can get on ebay. Rage, Bergen and Skandika are absolute rubbish and not worth getting coz you'll need a new one in no time anyway. Get a brand you've heard of...Vango, Lichfield, Outwell, Kampa, Gelert, Hi Gear, Easycamp etc.

Ebay is full of 'tried once but didn't like camping' second hand, barely used tents at this time of year. Get one that fits two more people than you've got..ie if you've got four people get a six man tent.
