Good clean fun!!  Got a few good pictures too that I'll stick up.

Thanks to chuck for a tarp setting up lesson - I'd have been screwed if I was on my own - it was like very high winds!!

Lucy had fun too !

Ye you guys seemed to have your tarps set up pretty nicely by the time the rest of us got down to the lough, learnt a thing or two from just looking at them. Glad Lucy enjoyed the trip, I'm sure that colossal dinosaur bone she found helped.

My top tip is - bring some insulating tape to reinforce the joints in poles in wind like that !

And don't forget your belt!!

As secure as you could expect. It's well lit and as far as I know has cameras. I've never heard of people having any problems.

Evening all, I managed to get the tens sent back yesterday to Terra Nova for 6 pounds recorded delivery. Was speaking to the woman who does the repairs today and she said they would sot the ripped pole sleeve and replace my pole all for free...Whoop Whoop... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Handy enough. How did you repair it in the end? The pole broke mid section, yea? Black tape with a wire peg to keep the broken section straight? Or did you get the peg up the middle of the pole?

Thats not a bad result... although its definitely the result you would expect.  Would be interesting to know why the pole failed though.  Wonder if it was just a manufacturing fault that caused a weakness in the pole, or if it was just too windy for an uber lightweight tent?

Knowing Matthew he probably had a portable welder packed in his bag to tack the broken ends back together ;D

The woman I spoke to suggested that it was my fault as it did not look like a manufacturing problem, it broke at the joint, how is it not their problem.

I eventually sorted the break in the hills by running one if the tent pegs donated by Chuck, thanks again by the way, up the inside if the pole. I tethered two of my titanium original pegs to the outside of that and then bound the entire assembly in electrical tape. For a field repair, especially in that wind it did a great job!

The woman on the phone had the cheek to say that since it was less than two years old it would be done for free. My responce to here was "love its kess than a month old" :P

ha ha ill stick to the laser, its being posted today so it will be here for tomorrow. What fantastic service. For the price of some of the tents like the prolite its questionable what more expensive ones actually offer.
