Welcome to the forum!!  I hope you enjoy your stay! Reasonable priced canoes are difficult to pick up as there is very little on the second hand market!  What had you in mind??

Thats why I got my Canadian. I can get 2 people, enough camping gear for proper comfort and plenty of food and drink. It's a bugger in the wind though...

Welcome MG1,

have you tried Geocaching for a variety on your Mourne travels.

You can rent canoes or kayaks from various places to give it a go first then if really keen either try for second hand or splash out (pun intended) and get a Canadian.

;D  Geocaching........well....I use multi million dollar satellites to find tupperware  :P

Basically it is modern day treasure hunting using sat nav. The fun is in the hunt as the treasure is a log book to sign and some trinkets for the kids to trade.

Check out Mike the Bike, hires out some kayaks in Newtownards, and CANI i think do the same, then you have all the outdoor businesses like BlueLough etc who hire.

There are various taster days etc look at the National Trust for Castle Ward etc,

and then there are organised trips where someone may have room on their canoe or a spare that you can join in with.
