I'm John

Excellent to see this forum up and floating!

I have a canoe building business based on the north coast near castlerock (www.valkyriecraft.com) and do some teaching part time as well.  Open boat canoing is my sport of choice but I am unfortunatly off the water pretty much at the moment with serious shoulder and knee injuries (done coaching under 16 rugby!! >:().

Hi John, welcome to the forum.

Interestingly the canoe I had my first go in was Valkyriecraftwith a sailing rig - thats what persuaded me to get a Canadian. It was a fine boat..

Hey !! I have seen your boats they are very pretty.  I am hoping that one day santa will leave me one in my stocking, (best get the sewing machine out to make it a bit bigger i guess!)

Seriously though, some day when cash permits and my open paddling improves to justify having such a fine craft I will be over to see you!
