Clearsky Adventure Centre
« on: May 05, 2009 »

Clearsky Adventure Centre opened in 2006, based on National Trusts Castle Ward Demesne. Its parent company the Peak Discovery Group was started in 2002.

2008 brings big things for Clearsky Adventure Centre with the development of our own conference centre in one of Castle Wards beautiful listed buildings.
Interior raw stone walls, wooden floor boards, traditional ceilings with exposed rafters..the place oozes with character. Watch this space!
NATURE AND CULTURE

Castle Ward has a breathtaking approach to the magnificent Mansion.
The 820 acre walled demesne is awe inspiring and the beautiful winding woodlands, gardens and parklands provide amazing unexpected vistas.
Set on the waters edge of Strangford Lough an array of wildlife is clear to the eye  with flocks of geese and seals to name but a few.
The quirky mid-georgian mansion is an amazing mix of classical and gothic styles. The Victorian laundry, playroom, cornmill and sawmill give the full flavour of how the estate has worked for the Ward family since the 16th Century.
SAFETY

All courses and outdoor activities run by us are staffed by experienced and NGB nationally qualified instructors who have a wealth of knowledge in their specific field.

We are members of The Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL), the British Canoe Union (BCU) and the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) and follow their codes of professional conduct at all times.

In relation to children and vulnerable adults our organisations staff recruitment, selection and management policies and procedures comply, as far as possible, with the principles of good practice contained in the DHSSPS document Our Duty of Care and all our staff undergo regular training courses and POCVA checks.

Our safety track record is unsurpassed and for extra peace of mind all activities are covered by Public Liability Insurance at an indemnity level of 5 million pounds (a copy of the Certificate of Insurance is available upon request).
