Hi all,
We are having a day out at Tardree forest next Sundat 23rd. If any of you guy's are interested in meeting up with us let myself or Celt Ginger know by P.M either here or over on Bushcraftliving we are on the same user name's so we can fill you in on the detail's.
The dat will include shelter building and general wood craft.
Hope you can make it Davy.

Due to the amount of interest show in this meet up, we have decided to move the location to Woodburn Forest, near Carrickfergus, due mainly to the lack of parking space and resources at the site in Tardree. Time is 10am at the main Woodburn car park. Hope to see you there.

Is the NIBA day Saturday 22nd or Sunday 23rd - think I've got my dates confused?

It's on Sunday, 24th of May. We will be demoing the "A" frame shelter.

Not so bad.  Seven injuries, five hospitalisations, but only four fatalities ;)

Seriously... we built a small A-frame, which turned out nicely, and looked at different fire lighting techniques (bow drilling, flint/steel, and various tinders), and did quite a bit of plant ID.  Good enough use of time for a few hours :)  Alan showed us his hobo stove, and we also checked out a few different blades/tools that people had brought. Pics were taken, but I don't have them, so hopefully someone else will post.
