Christmas Dinner and Camp 2013
« on: September 11, 2013 »

Okay, there's still a few days to go until Xmas but that doesn't mean we can't get our plans in motion. The sooner we can announce a date, the more chance that people can arrange the time needed. For anyone who hasn't been before, this will be the fourth time we've had have a full turkey dinner with all the fixin's up in the Mournes. The more complicated stuff is precooked before and then heated on the fire up there, the more straightforward items are all cooked at the dinner. It's been a fantastic success every year, by far the 3 best camps we've ever had. Obviously it's cold in December so wrap up warm and make sure you have suitable gear for the conditions! It's family friendly and guaranteed to be the best camp cooked meal you've ever had  8)

It will be in Annalong Wood again this year on Saturday 7th December. Further details to follow, any suggestions welcome, just post below.

As ever, everyone needs to read and understand the safety and responsibility notice linked here if they want to attend:

http://www.ni-wild.co.uk/forum/forum-news-information-and-help/ni-wild-meets-safety-and-responsibilty/
It will be cold and possibly wet and snowy. Definitely make sure you have suitable gear and experience for a night out approaching winter. If anyone wants any advice just PM.

Post below or PM to say you are coming and what you want to bring and you'll get added to the list. If you want to being something not on the list then that's fine, just let us know:

Provided my work do (as yet unarranged) is not on that weekend I will be in attendance.
No sweet potato on the list? I could rectify that

I would happily de-lurk myself at this, with a similar proviso as Aragorn that it doesn't class with a yet to be confirmed work do.

I could sort a few bottles of Mulled Wine.

Heck yea!  And if my work dinner is on the same night, then I'll wish them well  8)

Chipolatas and bacon for me again would do fine and a wee bottle of team wine.

Sounds good I'll get the gf to book it off work and both head up. I can knock up a drum of mulled wine easy enough from that list.

Rumblebum try just steaming the prouts for 5 mins then give em a quick fry in garlic butter. It was how I got the gf to eventually eat them.

Whats with these posh chipolatas in bacon??? Isn't xmas normally just pig bigs wrapped in bigger pig bits?

Dude, you're only married a few weeks and you already have the wife in the kitchen making food for your mates  ::)  :P
