Bike Trade in?
« on: March 14, 2013 »

Hi all,

I have a cross bike (Giant XR2 Roam), 1 year old and hardly used. I'm looking to trade this in and get a proper mountain bike. Can anyone recommend a shop that does trade ins?

I don't really know anywhere that takes trade ins, and to be honest you won't get the best value that way anyhow, as a shop would have to effectively take off minimum £50 from what it would get to cover the labour needed to ensure the bike is clean & safe, before the cost of parts.

Clean it up and stick it on Gumtree or eBay to get the most return on it, then look for a MTB (either new in the shops or 2nd hand from those same sites or some of the forums like MTBrider.com /Pinkbike etc)

There was another thread here recently about getting a MTB, some more details there.
