Rock Climbing in the Sperrins
« on: September 18, 2012 »

Four Elements Adventure are holding  the first course of its kind in the Sperrins ever on the 23rd September.

Aimed at those with little or no experience of climbing, the emphasis is on safe enjoyment of the sport, with as much or as little technical instruction as you want.

The course starts at 10am at the Owenkillew Community Centre Gortin where we will utilize the indoor bouldering wall and 6metere climbing wall after an introduction, issue of equipment and safety briefing. We will also look at climbing movement, the safety system, belaying, knots, whilst participants take it in turns to climb. After lunch (which is included) we will head to real rock, a nearby crag which will extend and develop the skills learned with the addition of abseiling, setting up belays e.t.c.
