Still 2-1 Liam!  ;D will have to get the thinking cap on for a good entry! Least the title has stayed in the Downpatrick area!   ;)

Great entries again! Well done Liam. I had an archive for this month (below) but didn't get round to entering before I went away... was no fear of winning anyway with that lot. Outdoor self portrait though? Now I've some good ones so don't get too confident  :D

Dowser - I've also been to Carrifran Wildwood - been following it online for years; really interesting project!

I've a couple of winning ideas winging their way about my small collection of brain cells, but it's whether I can get it captured on my box brownie  ::)

Seen a mushroom in Randalstown Forest there when I was out a walk recently. Reminded me of this picture, thought I'd share it.

Not sure - does white gills make a toadstool instead of a mushroom?? *propogates unconfirmed fact*

Looks tasty, but I wouldn't eat it... even with a bloody venison steak and red wine jus  :(

I think your mushroom could be the "Russula Aurata" also known as the Gilded brittlegill.

If it is what I think it is, it is edible, but be warned I am only about 40% confident about my answer!!! I'm on my iPhone so I can't have a proper google to be sure.

I love taking pictures of mushrooms when I'm out and about and trying to identify them when I get home. I like the idea of being able to add a few to a bit of bush tucker but to be honest it's just too scary. There are so many edible and deadly ones that look alike  ???
