The Northern Ireland Bushcraft Association or N.I.B.A. was founded in 2008 by a group of friends who met due to their love of the great outdoors and passion for bushcraft. The group started off meeting in local parks and forest areas around Northern Ireland, before making application to public and private estates in a bid to secure a more permanent site. Bushcrafting in northern Ireland however, unlike the mainland U.K. and the south of Ireland is difficult as we don’t have the same right to roam laws. Gaining permission from landowners and local council bodies is presently the only way to get access to well established broadleaf and coniferous woodland. On a plus point, we are at present in talks with a couple of local establishments and are hopeful of securing one or more sites for our use.  We are keeping our fingers crossed! Anyway thats a brief introduction of who we are, i have purposely not mentioned our members as they will no doubt introduce themselves later on in the site. Thanks for stopping by and i hope you enjoy your time here.

Drop us an email at niba@fsmail.net and tell us a little bit about yourself and your bushcrafting experience. We'll probably arrange to meet up with anyone who wants to become a member. If we are happy that you are properly interested in Bushcraft and not just into sitting round a campfire having a booze up and comparing giant knives, then we may invite you to join.
