Thanks, that's the bit of the route that concerns me. Should be a interesting day in the hills.

A friend and I done it (well nearly) the last time it was run. we got 6 out of 7 peaks. Binnian broke us! and after that lamagan and the walk back over to donard just seemed to much. we did absolutely zero training! so id recommend doing abit lol. the 2.30 cut off isn't to bad if you go at a steady pace. and 100% bring bug spray or a net because we got eaten alive!
signed up to do it this year again but may put out due to a bad knee.

Wish I could, really keen to get to know the Sperrins better! But am in England this weekend, hopefully walking in the Malvern Hills.

Definitely need a wild camp soon, though.

Was thinking of heading to the Sperrins on Saturday if anybody would like to meet up, if the weather holds out the view from Sawel would be something else.

If you're up for it, let me know.

they are quite expensive but you can pick them up used for around £100 on ebay
then you can use the free maps, like openstreetmap etc

You could pick up a cheap Android phone or even a second hand one just for Viewranger. It would be much less than a dedicated Garmin etc.
