some interesting bits of gear

I love the Hammock in the beginning, what a brilliant Idea.

Does anyone have any suggestions re hammocks? Not for hardcore wild camping more for a bit of swinging (i.e. lounging - not doing something dodgy with someone else's partner!!)

Hi Spin, Ill not recommend a hammock to buy but 2 things to keep in mind (in my opinion) are:
1. A built in fly net is a must - if you don't need it you can flip the hammock over and keep the net on the bottom.
2. Breathable - I bought a waterproof hammock in case I needed it as a bivvy. I've never used it as a bivvy and every time I wake up after a night in my hammock, my sleeping bag is wet with condensation.
Hope that helps a bit

Ah yeah. Good to know. Thank you

DD Hammocks are pretty good and quite well respected. Like Torp said, midges can be an issue so a net is worth considering.
