Folks we're heading over to Rams Island for an overnight camp Sat 4th Nov - Sun 5th Nov (time TBA)
Its a tenner for adults and a fiver for kids this covers your camping and the boat too and from the island.
The plan is to do a communal meal of a big pot of stew or you can always do your own meal to be washed down with your tipple of choice (you bring this yourself ;))
so if you like the idea of sitting around a campfire with a big pot of stew bubbling away, putting the world to rights, lets us know and we can add you too our list of attendees. Everyones welcome.
There is no fresh water on the island so bring what you think you need or water can be filtered from the lough. Rams is also a very kid friendly camp in that you can bring as much gear as you like as you're literally on and off the boat and you're at the campsite so its easy to keep the kids comfortable and with toilets on the barge everyone's a winner ;) ;)

Sounds perfect, I'll try my best to make this one, can't beat a big pot'o stew 8)

Any suggestions on what'll be needed for the stew and shall we do a list like the xmas camps for food to bring?
Also, has anyone got a massive pot?
Lastly, are we bringing the brats or not? - I'm easy either way with this one as I had them over the last time so I'm happy to bring them or leave them with their maw at home ;D

Definitely bring the kids, I know if I was a kid and my dad was going over to Rams and not taking me there would be tantrums lol.
I've a massive big pot so that's sorted, I'll sort the makings out for the stew if someone would maybe like to bring a bag of crusty rolls and a drop of butter and someone could sort a wee bit of dessert and so on, if everyone brings something we'll be having some feast ;D ;D

I can grab some rolls, butter and other goodies for the trip. I might even let the kids try out some bannock bread to keep them occupied.

How about them mini apple pies or mince pies, heated by the fire with some squirty cream on the side mmmmmmmmmm :P

Folks just a thought, with the clocks going back at the weekend there and the days becoming shorter we could maybe try and get over a bit earlier to make the most of it. Is anyone stuck for time we could try for about noon, shout up if this doesn't work for you and that's if it suits the skipper as well :)

I hope you can get over your tantrum soon cause the Christmas camp will be quick at coming up and it's a small place for us to be trying to avoid each other ;) ;D

Cracking camp guys. We had a great time building shelters and plundering around the forest. Rams really is perfect for kids.
The stew was cracking (cheers Glenn) and late night delightful pies (cheers Heggs) 8)
BTW, I think I lost a bag of pegs if anyone spotted one.
