Mourne 7 7's Saturday, August 13th
« on: June 27, 2016 »

Hi Guys,

Anyone giving it a go this year?

I have threatened to do it for the past couple of years but this year I have made sure I am off work and I also have myself and my other half booked into the Slieve Donard for the night so I am definitely doing it this time.

Might do. Did it last year. I had big plans to go for a proper time this time round but domestic and work commitments have played havoc with my diet and training schedule!

The Slieve Donard? Afternoon tea, mmmm....

I am working on a small bit of training, rowing mostly at home and an outing to the Mournes when work and other commitments allow but to be honest I will be happy first of all just to complete it and get the official cert.

If we were to get finishd on time for afternoon tea we would be doing very well  ;D

I've had one of their afternoon teas...it's a pretty good incentive  ;)

Brilliant Sean, well done. The 7s really is an epic achievement, I can't even imagine doing it.

Well done Sean, I'd love to be fit enough to try something like that!

Really good write up Sean and well done on finishing. That bog between Ben Crom and Meelbeg is a killer, a few weeks ago my buddy and I walked up the Glen River, over Commedagh and Bearnagh and headed along the river towards Ben Crom so we could climb down into the reservoir. I felt great leaving Bearnagh but by the time we stopped for something to eat at the summit of Ben Crom I was destroyed, it is so heavy on the legs down in there, the long grass and how wet it usually is makes for tough going. Well done.

Nope, the Mourne wall walk is longer again than the sevens. I've not attempted that one but maybe someday.
I definitely plan to do the sevens again next year. Now that I have done it once I have a time to beat.
