Did you have a groundsheet protector down?  I have always walked through Pollaphuca and wished the ground looked kinder for camping.  Mind you it would be perhaps too tempting to just stop short, rather than push on to the intended destination!

na, mind you your right, those tiny bits of granite are sharp. if my tent wasn't so old i would'nt camp there. however there is more than a few holes in the bottom and the water proof'ness is long gone, 3.5 foam roll mats make up for it. 1 person tent on paper.3.5 rollmats are sufficient to cover then tent floor for me and the puppers. the plan was to keep going but i spend nearly 2 hours watching the rescue of the walker with a head injury. so it was cold and late when i got there, seemed like a good plan!
