Seems we're the only country that doen't put big crosses on our summits! strange as religion seems to be such a big thing round here  8)

New member Sean has put in a bid for king after summiting Kilimanjaro  last month, unfortunately he did not realise that LennyJ1 is 8 foot tall and as such Sean's attempt has been totally in vain and he must now seek out a taller mountain or bring a stepladder up Kilimanjaro in order to take the title  ;D

Just realised we haven't a Queen of the Castle  :o  so we will award that to Shamara for being the highest lady until Dowser shows us a pic of him in his christmas suit on a higher mountain  :D

I went up to the highest point in one of the Greek Islands there: Santorini. It wasn't an impressively high Mountain, but I should get points because I went all the way up on a 50cc scooter with my girlfriend on the back  ;D .... It got properly hairy in parts

well you did "climb" onto the scooter, we'll need some photo evidence of course, including a pic of your underpants to see just how hairy it really was  ;D

Kala Patthar, meaning 'black rock' in Nepali and Hindi, is a notable landmark located on the south ridge Pumori (7,161 m or 23,494 ft) in the Nepalese Himalayas. Although not a proper mountain with a prominence of only (10 m or 33 ft),[1] the ascent of Kala Patthar is very popular with trekkers in the region of Mount Everest, since it provides the most accessible point to view Mt. Everest from base camp to peak (due to the structure of Everest, the peak cannot be seen from the base camp). "The views of Everest, Nuptse Nup II and Changtse are spectacular from Kala Patthar and there are glimpses of the northern flank and summit of Lhotse. The world's highest webcam, Mount Everest webcam, is located here.

Nice one Alan, new king of the castle  (even if its not a proper mountain :) )

Island Peak, Everest Region, Nepal (6189m / 20,305ft)

Kilimanjaro last year wasn't high enough so I set out to break the 6000m mark and the 20,000ft mark. I didn't realise that it would make me king of the castle here.
The opportunity presented itself this year with an option to climb Island Peak on the end of an Everest Base camp trip earlier this month.
I have attached some summit photos. Summit day was 17th of this month. There were 3 of us climbing, a young Australian lad (and now good friend), he is only 21. He will go a long way if he sticks at climbing and Ang Kami Sherpa; the guy who made it possible for us. Legend!

My journey to get to Island Peak (in order of first ascent);

Donard, Commedagh, Binnian, Ben Nevis, Carrauntoohil, Scafell Pike, Snowdon, Bearnagh, Meelmore, Meelbeg, Lamagan, Muck, Doan, Kilimanjaro, Lugnaquilla, EBC, Kala Patthar, Island Peak, Next??...

Welldone!
That would make you the kink of the castle, surpassing my recent Island Peak adventure.
I spent a lot of time looking at Ama Dablam while up that way last month, looking straight at it from Island Peak in my photos in my previous post.
Apparently it is very technical, according to a guy I know who has climbed it.
