Will need a wider angle photo, I though it was indoors. Good luck with your build - it's looking good.

I must say that I had a great night and I hope to see you all in future camps. I had an enjoyable walk out along trassey track, brandy pad, glen river track to Newcastle. Unfortunately it was raining by the time I got to the glen river.

Regarding snow conditions, Hares gap was devoid of snow although there was a lot of ice about. The higher tops had a good coverage of snow and it seemed to be better towards the coastal side. Donard and its neighbours were well covered down to the level of the col. Predictably the steps above the glen river were very icy but this wasn't stopping large numbers of day trippers making the ascent of Donard. Perhaps they were going up to get a good phone signal ;)

That was a great night guys. Bit of a late one - by the time I hit Saturday evening I couldn't keep my eyes open. Still, a steak and bit of chat round the fire was just what the doctor ordered to start the year. It was a shame we never saw the snow we were hoping for so after everyone dispersed on Saturday I found myself with a bit of spare time on my hands so I hiked up to the wall to see what the snow was like there. There was some but not a huge amount, still, was a lovely day for a wander even if I did have to carry all my overnight gear.

Pics and a writeup here:

Great wee write-up and pics, sorry I missed it now but I had other less interesting things on. Hopefully get a wee camp out in the next few weeks.
