Haha, yes, I remember that. I admired his effort and blind determination that day to keep going.
I had one particular (rather out of shape) friend one day who gave up before even getting out of Donard forest!

When I went camping on Donard taking an 18kg pack it took me 2.5hrs getting up, a week later I did it with no rucksack and it took 1.5hrs, shows the difference it makes. Using my formula Sean should be able to get up in 30 mins without a rucksack  ;D

Remember if anyone complains about you going slow just ask them to carry some of your gear  ;)

Haha, not quite that good. My fastest ever ascent to the top of Donard when I actually tried for a time was about an hour back in 2013.
I had been training a lot earlier this year up and over Binnian with dumbbell weights in my pack for the Island Peak trip. I really got used to the weight then and during the trip.
Although, since the trip, apart from one camping trip up Donard I have mostly been at home eating Doritos and Peperami so I am sure I will have lost some speed by now, lol

I have just posted over here http://www.ni-wild.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=5090.30
I might be able to camp on Commedagh this coming Monday night if anyone would be interested. (Weather permitting).
It would be an after dark ascent.

No time for anything

It looks like you guys are in great shape compared to me, I'm pretty determined and may huff and puff a bit but always try to push it, thinking my tent may be overkill though as its quite heavy for backpacking.

It's entirely up to you.
I am for heading up on Monday night. I will base my final derision on the forecast on the day. It will take a pretty bad forecast to stop me because I know that Commedagh summit (by the stone shelter) is sheltered from both the south and the west by the Mourne Wall; (the strongest wind likely).
I would be happy to have the company if you decide to join me  ;D

I wouldn't be able to do Monday, I don't get back to NI until 14th December but really looking to get out as soon as I get back.
