Thanks Redleader.  We were surprised there was no midges at all.  I've had to leave the wood before and camp further up in the past.  I thought it was going to be midge fest and was surprised.  There was a breeze as you will see blowing tarps etc.  maybe that helped.  It was the first time in a hammock and I was surprised I slept no problem too.  Thanks.

Aww guys I'm on my hols that week so I'm going to have to give it a miss  :(

The dates not set in stone dude.  My kids were asking me about going back and I just thought I would put the idea out there.  We could always consider the 31st August or the 7th Sept?

I could potentially do the 17th, will check.

Anyone fancy a good old fashioned leg'o'lamb slow cooked over the fire? We've not done one in an age.

Looks lovely. I've not had the hammock out in quite a while. Were there no midges at all or were you just protected by the mesh net? They're usually wild this time of year.

Would anyone fancy a Rams Island camp on the 17th or 24th August?

Thanks Rumblebum.  It took a bit of time setting up as the first hammock camp but we got there in the end.  Thanks
