A helicopter from Dublin is being sent to help search for a man missing in the Mourne Mountains in County Down.

The man, 22, was staying at a caravan park near Carlingford Lough and failed to return on Thursday night. He was last seen in the Bloody Bridge area.

Ed Kilgore, from the Mourne Mountain Rescue Teams, said police and the Coastguard were also involved in the search effort.

"He had been out with a group of friends and got separated," he said.

"We called in the team and started a search of the forest and the mountain area where he had been last seen and worked through to about 0530 BST this morning and the Coastguard arrived to start doing a search along the beach."

The missing man is described as being 6ft 3ins tall, of strong build with brown curly hair and blue eyes.

When last seen he was wearing a black and white rugby shirt.

Hope this guy's okay - the weather's not been so bad but it doesn't sound like he was overly prepared.

Probably doesn 't help that the BBC and Irishnews report different colours for the clothes he was wearing!
