saw thsi on BCUK and thought it might be fun to give a go as it looks to be far more durable then the standard pop can stove.

Excellent, looks just like a Whitebox stove but at a fraction of the cost.  Let us know how you get on, wouldn't mind having a go at one of these as well!

Whilst on the subject... what was that fuel you were using with your Trangia Mini at the Donard Wood camp?  Could it be used with this type of stove?

Where can you get ethanol though?  I didnt think it was commercially available, and we are stuck with meths instead...?  Just the whole thing came to mind as there was an article in TGO about meths this month.  Strange subject but interesting none the less!

I don't think you can buy ethanol unless you have a good reason (incase you drink it).

As far as the Chemistry Technician in Work told me, you need a licence to have the stuff, this being said I opted for Acetone but I am not sure about that as a stove fuel. I Bought 2.5L for seven quid via work but for non-school use, it was £22. You can buy ethanol as long as it is used in the building covered by the license.....

Quick test in the garage there reveals that it does burn very well...
