BLACK MOUNTAIN CTX RADIO STATION...SSB 27.555 MKS... :o :o :o ;D
What does this mean?

Hi 68CT022 and Red Leader.

I think this is CB radio?  I have recently dug out 2 old rigs - a handheld and car one.  CTX is Charlie Tango eXtreme. This is like going up to mountains and overnight wild camps with antennas and trying to make contacts.  There are some guys on You Tube do videos etc.  SSB is single side band and  frequency. They also try and make contacts via PMR446 (free to air walkie talkies) like the ones we used at the NI Wild Christmas Dinner in the woods on ch6.

Is this correct?  I'm only recently getting into this again!  Is this CTX a regular thing or was it pick up as one off by chance?  Does this make sense?

Charlie Tango DX is a forum like this one for radios amateur, CB, PMR446 etc.  They do nets at certain times when people try and make contacts on high places such as Sunday afternoon say 2-4pm etc and other times.

My call sign is 68CT031. Got it issued last week (68 is region in world i.e. Northern Ireland then Charlie Tango and number).

I hoping to take some radios up next time I do a few summits and see if I get any contact.

These guys talk about sleep bags, tents and gear etc. do wild camps etc. here is an example of black mountains in Wales below:
